ROE DEER FAWN

Fawn found in field, cold, badly emaciated and dehydrated. Reports that body parts of what may have been fawns mother found in field a week earlier after combine harvester cutting of crops.

Fawn taken directly to Fair City vets in Perth and placed on I.V. fluids.

DOG

Dog got loose from owner and ran into busy traffic and was hit by a transit van. First aid given to dog on scene and then rushed by SWRT Ambulance to vets for treatment.

HEDGEHOG

Hog found out during the day. Upon examination it was found to have an infected nail bed on front foot.

FERAL PIGEON

Call from B&Q warehouse reporting that a pigeon had gained access to a small stock area which has no external doors or windows. Staff could not get to the bird due to the height at which the bird was perched.  SWRT team attended with nets, ladder and working at height PPE.  Bird caught, examined and released.

MUTE SWAN CYGNET

Report received that one of the six remaining cygnets at harbour was unable to get out of water and could not walk. Team caught bird and recovered to vet for examination. Xrays of keel, pelvis & legs reveal no obvious injuries.

Caller reported that she had recovered a rabbit with swollen eyes which was sitting in road. Rabbit found to have advanced stages of myxomatosis.

Report from motorist that a red squirrel was lying injured in the road at back of Camperdown Country Park.

Called by PDSA Animal Hospital to take an injured gull into SWRT care for rehabilitation.

Received a call from Golf vets reporting that a young pigeon had been handed in by a member of the public.  No injuries just needs rearing.

Call reporting that a Buzzard was lying in grass verge.

PIGEON

Call from member of public who's cat had brought in what they thought was a Buzzard chick. Upon arrival we found that it was actually a pigeon.

FOX

Early morning call from lorry driver reporting that a fox was continually running back & forth across the busy Kingsway near traffic lights at Forfar road junction. Animal eventually caught in humane trap, given examination on scene and released.
